Music - Guzheng 

The Guzheng has been a staple of Chinese culture for over 2,500 years. It is often depicted in traditional paintings as the instrument of nobles, scholars, and talented women. (“Gǔzhēng: 古筝 - Guzheng, Chinese Zither [Contextual Chinese Dictionary]”).  The Guzheng is important to Chinese culture as it shows the depth of emotion and storytelling in Chinese arts, as well as being a form of self-cultivation through discipline and patience.

Dance - Lion Dance 

The Lion Dance is a very important dance in Chinese festivals, especially the Chinese New Year. The Lion Dance is performed to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck into the new year (Tang). There are two versions of this dance: northern and southern.  In Chinese culture, the lion represents superiority, wisdom, power,  & courage. This dance is important to Chinese culture as it exhibits the skill, rhythm, and agility, coordination between two highly trained dancers, as well as incorporating martial arts practices.

Fashion - Hanfu 

Hanfu is the most prominent form of Chinese clothing. The Hanfu descends from the Han people and is around 4,000 years old. Since its emergence during the Yellow Emperor period, this clothing has changed to suit the different dynasties, their politics, & their ever-changing social and cultural norms. Hanfu is important to Chinese culture, as its designs show important parts of Chinese history, special designs depending on one's social class,& its modern uses during festivals and important rites of passage.
